Window Blinds Price per Sq Ft in India (2026 Guide)

Double-height living room with white blinds on tall windows

Window blinds cost ₹130 to ₹350 per sq ft, including installation, at Akhil Interior. Standard roller and basic vertical blinds sit towards the lower end, zebra blinds and better fabrics land in the middle, and wooden, honeycomb and premium imported blinds sit towards the upper end. Motorisation is an add-on on top of the blind itself.

Here is how the price is calculated, what moves it up or down, and what typical windows actually cost.

How blinds are priced

Blinds are priced by area: width × height, in square feet. A 4 ft wide, 5 ft tall window is 20 sq ft; a 6 × 7 ft sliding door is 42 sq ft. The rate per sq ft depends on the blind, and the total is simply area × rate.

For outside-mounted blinds, the area includes the overlap around the window — usually 3 to 4 inches on each side — so the blind is slightly larger than the opening. Our step-by-step guide to measuring windows for blinds explains exactly how to measure.

What decides where you land in the ₹130–₹350 range

  1. Type of blind. Roller blinds are the simplest to make; zebra blinds use a double layer of fabric; wooden and honeycomb blinds use more expensive materials and mechanisms.
  2. Fabric or material. Basic polyester costs less than blackout coatings, technical sunscreen mesh, textured weaves or real wood.
  3. Mechanism. A standard chain or cord is included; spring, cordless and heavy-duty mechanisms cost more, and motors are quoted separately.
  4. Size. Very large blinds need stronger tubes and headrails. Very small windows may carry a minimum chargeable area with some suppliers — always check.
  5. Installation conditions. Standard brick or concrete walls are straightforward; false ceilings, glass partitions and double-height windows need extra care.

Price examples for common window sizes

At ₹130 to ₹350 per sq ft, installation included:

  • Small bathroom or kitchen window, 3 × 4 ft (12 sq ft): about ₹1,560 to ₹4,200.
  • Standard bedroom window, 4 × 5 ft (20 sq ft): about ₹2,600 to ₹7,000.
  • Living room window, 5 × 6 ft (30 sq ft): about ₹3,900 to ₹10,500.
  • Sliding balcony door, 6 × 7 ft (42 sq ft): about ₹5,460 to ₹14,700.
  • Large window wall, 10 × 8 ft (80 sq ft): about ₹10,400 to ₹28,000.

For a complete 2BHK flat with six to eight windows, the total commonly runs into a few tens of thousands of rupees — far less if you choose roller blinds throughout, more if you choose wood or motorise the living room.

What is included in the price

Our per-sq-ft rate covers the blind made to your measurements, its standard operating mechanism, brackets and fixings, and professional installation. Items that are typically separate:

  • Motors, remotes, hubs and wiring for motorised blinds.
  • Side channels for maximum blackout, if you want them.
  • Removal of old blinds or curtain hardware, if needed.

Six ways to save without regretting it

  1. Use the right blind for each room. Blackout fabric is worth it in bedrooms; a lighter fabric is enough in a passage or utility area.
  2. Choose roller or zebra for large windows, where wood would add up quickly.
  3. Combine small windows that sit side by side under one blind where the layout allows.
  4. Motorise only where it matters — the tall living-room window, not every bathroom.
  5. Order everything together. A single visit for the whole home is more efficient than piecemeal orders.
  6. Don't economise on the mechanism. A cheap clutch or chain is usually the first part to fail.

Blinds vs curtains on cost

For the same window, blinds are often comparable to or cheaper than curtains once you add fabric, stitching, lining and a curtain track. Blinds also use less fabric and are easier to keep clean in dusty cities.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of window blinds per sq ft?

At Akhil Interior, window blinds cost ₹130 to ₹350 per sq ft, including installation. Roller blinds are usually towards the lower end; wooden, honeycomb and premium blinds are towards the upper end.

How do I calculate the cost of blinds for my window?

Multiply the width by the height in feet to get the area in square feet, then multiply by the rate. A 4 × 5 ft window is 20 sq ft, which costs about ₹2,600 to ₹7,000 at ₹130 to ₹350 per sq ft.

Is installation included in the price of blinds?

Yes. Our per-sq-ft price includes installation. Motors, wiring and optional side channels are quoted separately.

Which blinds are the best value for money?

Roller and zebra blinds usually give the best value: they are durable, easy to clean and available in blackout, dim-out and sunscreen fabrics. Spend more on wood or motorisation only where it adds real comfort or style.
