Ceiling Curtain Track Price: What You'll Pay per Running Foot
A ceiling-mounted curtain track costs the same per foot as any other track — ₹140 to ₹450 per running foot at Akhil Interior, including installation. What makes ceiling installations different is the total: ceiling tracks often run wall to wall, frequently carry two layers, and may need reinforcement if the ceiling is a gypsum false ceiling.
What sets the rate per foot
Mounting on the ceiling doesn't change the rate by itself. The rate depends on:
- Material: PVC channels at the lower end, aluminium in the middle.
- Type: ripple fold, heavy-duty, bendable and motor-compatible profiles towards the upper end.
- Finish: standard white or silver costs less than black, champagne or custom colours.
Why ceiling runs are often longer
Because a ceiling track doesn't need wall brackets beside the window, it's natural to run it from wall to wall. That looks better and makes the window seem bigger — but it adds running feet. A 7 ft window on a 10 ft wall uses 10 ft of track instead of 8 or 9.
The false-ceiling question
- Batten installed during construction: the cheapest route. The ceiling contractor fixes a wooden or plywood strip above the gypsum along the track line, and the track screws straight into it.
- No batten in a finished ceiling: the installer either uses long anchors through to the slab or opens the ceiling to add support. This is extra work and is usually priced separately.
- Recessed pockets: a groove in the false ceiling that hides the track completely. It must be built by the ceiling contractor, not added later.
Worked examples
At ₹140 to ₹450 per running foot, installation included:
- Bedroom, 10 ft wall-to-wall single track: ₹1,400 to ₹4,500
- Same bedroom with a double track (sheer + blackout): 20 running feet, ₹2,800 to ₹9,000
- Living room, 14 ft double track: 28 running feet, ₹3,920 to ₹12,600
- L-shaped corner window, 8 ft + 6 ft single track: 14 running feet, ₹1,960 to ₹6,300
Match the profile to the curtain
- Sheers only: a lighter profile is fine.
- Lined blackout curtains: aluminium with brackets every 2 to 3 feet.
- Ripple fold or motorised: dedicated profiles at the upper end of the range.
How to keep the cost sensible
- Plan battens with the false ceiling — it costs little at that stage and saves trouble later.
- Run one continuous track along a wall with two windows instead of two short tracks with awkward gaps.
- Choose aluminium once rather than replacing a sagging PVC channel later.
- Motorise selectively — only the layer and windows where it matters.
What a ceiling track quote should list
- The profile name and material, and the finish.
- Total running feet, per layer.
- Bracket type and spacing.
- Number of gliders, end stops and overlap arms.
- Any false-ceiling work, priced separately.
- Installation, confirmed as included.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a ceiling curtain track cost?
At Akhil Interior, ceiling-mounted tracks cost ₹140 to ₹450 per running foot, including installation. A 10 ft single track costs about ₹1,400 to ₹4,500 depending on the profile and finish.
Does a false ceiling add to the cost of a curtain track?
Only if support has to be added after the ceiling is finished. If a batten was installed along the track line during construction, the track fixes straight into it at no extra cost.
Is a ceiling track more expensive than a wall track?
The rate per foot is the same. Ceiling tracks often cost more in total because they tend to run wall to wall and carry two layers.
Is installation included in the price?
Yes. Our per-foot price includes installation. False-ceiling reinforcement, motors and electrical work are quoted separately.
