Curtain Channel Installation in North Delhi

Older homes with character

Model Town, Derawal Nagar, Gujranwala Town and Civil Lines have many older kothis with high ceilings, thick walls and deep window reveals. Two things matter most here. First, the fixing: old plaster can be hollow, so brackets must go through to solid masonry or the channel slowly pulls away. Second, the height: in very high rooms you can mount the channel on the ceiling for dramatic full-height curtains, or on the wall at a consistent height for a more manageable length. Either works if it is consistent across the room.

Older wooden windows often open into the room, so the channel must extend far enough past the frame for the curtains to stack clear of the swing.

PGs, rentals and student rooms

Around Kamla Nagar, Hudson Lane, GTB Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar, many buildings are PGs and rental rooms. For landlords, a ceiling-fixed aluminium channel with fixed end stops is the low-maintenance choice: tenants cannot pull it down the way they can a rod, and spare gliders fit every room if the same profile is used throughout. Thin PVC channels on wide windows bend within a year or two and end up costing more.
